Opening:
Chris Meador opened the meeting in our usual meeting space, the Good News classroom of Forest Hills UMC, and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:
President Mark Bayless welcomed the attendees and conducted opening club business.

Congratulations to the winners of our club Humorous Speech and Evaluation contests, Pankaj Soni and Lysa Rigo. The Area and Division contests are being held at State Farm in Murfreesboro next Saturday, September 28, from 9:00 to 1:30.

Immediate Past President Rachel Sumner recognized Mark Bayless for his achievement of Advanced Communicator Silver, and Andrew Payne for his achievement of Competent Communicator.

Our next meeting is October 8th, and we will be meeting informally beforehand at Sal's Pizzeria (at 5:45).

Opening:
Rachel Sumner opened the meeting in our usual meeting space, the Good News classroom of Forest Hills UMC, and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:
Immediate Past President Rachel Sumner acted as presiding officer since other officers were attending TLI leadership training across town at Caterpillar International.

Congratulations to Don Kovach on achieving his Advanced Communicator Silver! Rachel presented Don with his new name tag bearing this designation.

Our next meeting will not be our conventional meeting format. There is a Humorist Speech Contest on September 10, as well as an Evaluation Contest. Also, following our meeting is an informal get-together at Chili's. Guests are still welcome to join us for the meeting as well as dinner afterward!
