Brentwood Evening Toastmasters
Meeting Notes
Tuesday August 13, 2013
Toastmaster for the evening – Russ Vantrease

Opening:
Maia Ketterbaugh opened the meeting and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, then turned the gavel over to BET President Mark Bayless who read the mission of Toastmasters International. Mark then introduced our many guests, including our new Area 42 Governor, Deb Poland, and our guest speaker, Wayne Goode, from Huntsville, Alabama, who is practicing a speech he will be giving in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the upcoming August Toastmasters International Speech Contest.

Club News: This meeting was held in our regular gathering space at the church after being temporarily relocated to an alternate room for our last few sessions. Mark announced that the next meeting date is Tuesday, August 27, 2013.

If any guest is interested in joining our club, please speak to Ani Osborne, VP of Membership. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mark asked guests for any feedback regarding the meeting.

Past president Rachel Sumner presented and announced that we just received our ribbon denoting BET as a President’s Distinguished Club for 2012-2013. This is the fourth consecutive year for BET to achieve this designation which is the highest awarded by Toastmasters International.
