on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Tuesdays of each month.

Opening:
Russ Vantrease opened the meeting and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, then turned the gavel over to BET President Rachel Sumner who read the mission of Toastmasters International.

Club News:
Our last Youth Leadership Program will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7 pm.  We will hold a last meeting reception/celebration and all BET members are invited to attend along with YLP participants and their parents. We encourage you to bring some simple finger food or drinks for the reception with setup beginning at 6:45p.

Fall conference will be held in Monteagle, TN during the first week in November.  Flyers are available for those interested.

Word of the Day: Rajiv Gupta – bummer: exclamation to express frustration, disappointment

Humorist:  Sud Kontaddi – story about two friends, with one needing an ambulance, but the other friend couldn’t spell the street name for the emergency assistance responder, so offered to drag her friend to Elm Street.

Opening:
Chris Meador opened the meeting and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, then turned the gavel over to BET President Rachel Sumner. Rachel read the mission of Toastmasters International, then introduced our guests including Don Bittick, District 63 Governor, and Becky Begarly, District 63 Public Relations Officer.

Club News:
Chris Meador made a motion for the club to accept as new BET members Sud Kontaddi, Maia Ketterbaugh and Rajiv Gupta. Irma Perry seconded the motion and the club unanimously approved. All three were inducted this evening.

Since we did not have a club representative at the District 63 Conference and Speech Contests, Becky Begarly attended our chapter meeting in order to present awards to BET. On behalf of the club, Mark Bayless had submitted 4 out of 8 items in order for BET to qualify for and win the 2012-2013 District Public Relations Award. Becky then presented Rachel Sumner with the Acorn Award, specially designed for D63 members who invite 25 or more guests to attend BET meetings. Congratulations BET and Rachel!

Club News:  Steve Cornwell delivered the speech tonight that he will present at the Spring Conference in Knoxville, which is April 5-7. He has requested a group evaluation from the club.

Rachel announced that the following people have submitted applications to join our club: Kimberly Watts, Maia Ketterbaugh and Lynn Cole.

Club News:
Rachel announced that Pankaj won the evaluation contest for our area but unfortunately lost at the division level.
Dues are due in March. Checks are payable to Brentwood Evening Toastmasters.
The Spring Conference will be held in Knoxville at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, April 5-7, 2013. More information is available at www.d63toastmasters.com.
