on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Tuesdays of each month.

(BET is not affiliated with the church and is open to any and all individuals interested in self-improvement and effective communication. Through the open generosity of the church BET is able to hold meetings in one of its classrooms.)

Toastmaster for the evening – Don Kovach

Opening:

Michael Moryc opened the meeting and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. Rachel then welcomed and introduced the guests.

Club News:

Next level of humorous speech contest will be held in downtown Franklin on September 24th at location TBD. New TI leadership manuals have arrived for BET officers.

Mike Costa reminded members that the deadline for club membership dues is next meeting, Sept. 27th.

Toastmasters International has increased their six-month and annual dues beginning this membership period. However, BET is fiscally sound and is not raising our six-month club rate. Those who pay for a full year will receive a discount on the club rate for the second six-month period.

6-month membership (Sep 2011 thru Mar 2012)

TI dues $36.00; BET dues $12.00 = Total $48.00

1-year membership (Sep 2011 thru Aug 2012)

TI dues $72.00; BET dues $18.00 = Total $90.00

Make checks payable to Brentwood Evening Toastmasters (for either $48 or $90). Please bring your payment to the Sept. 27 meeting or mail it to Treasurer, Mike Costa.

The cricket social is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17 from 12:30 to 4pm.

Toastmaster for the evening – Rachel Sumner

Opening:

Manuel opened the meeting and led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:

Members voted to replace the current BET banner with a new banner displaying the TI "rebranded" design. The club also agreed to replace other materials, only when needed, with the new TI branding. The cricket social was scheduled for Sat., Sept. 10 (however this has now been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 17).

Toastmasters International has increased their six-month and annual dues beginning with this membership period. Meanwhile, BET is fiscally sound and is not raising our six-month club rate. Those who pay for a full year will receive a discount on the club rate for the second six-month period.
