Word of the day: potpourri noun 1. A mixture of dried petals of roses or other flowers with spices, kept in a jar for their fragrance. 2. A musical medley. 3. A collection of miscellaneous literary extracts. 4. Any mixture, especially of unrelated objects, subjects, etc. 
Club Business and Announcements
The Brentwood Evening Toastmasters club will have an Open House on October 27, 2015. We are asking each member to bring a friend. We will also invite members from Forest Hills UMC to attend. There will be fun, fellowship and food at the meeting. Janet Schreibman will be chairing the event and is asking for a volunteer to help co-chair. Please note that you can receive competent leadership credit for serving as a co-chair for the Open House.

 On September 8, the Brentwood Evening Toastmasters will hold a humorist and evaluation club contest. The winners will move on to the area contest. 

 On August 25, the club inducted two new members, Karen and Shahani Martirosyan. Congratulations!
