BET Meeting Notes for April 9, 2013

Brentwood Evening Toastmasters
Meeting Notes
Tuesday April 9, 2013
Toastmaster for the evening – Krishna Rao

Opening:
Chris Meador opened the meeting and led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, then turned the gavel over to BET President Rachel Sumner. Rachel read the mission of Toastmasters International, then introduced our guests including Don Bittick, District 63 Governor, and Becky Begarly, District 63 Public Relations Officer.

Club News:
Chris Meador made a motion for the club to accept as new BET members Sud Kontaddi, Maia Ketterbaugh and Rajiv Gupta. Irma Perry seconded the motion and the club unanimously approved. All three were inducted this evening.

Since we did not have a club representative at the District 63 Conference and Speech Contests, Becky Begarly attended our chapter meeting in order to present awards to BET. On behalf of the club, Mark Bayless had submitted 4 out of 8 items in order for BET to qualify for and win the 2012-2013 District Public Relations Award. Becky then presented Rachel Sumner with the Acorn Award, specially designed for D63 members who invite 25 or more guests to attend BET meetings. Congratulations BET and Rachel!
