Toastmaster for the evening – Rachel Sumner

Opening:

Manuel opened the meeting and led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:

Members voted to replace the current BET banner with a new banner displaying the TI "rebranded" design. The club also agreed to replace other materials, only when needed, with the new TI branding. The cricket social was scheduled for Sat., Sept. 10 (however this has now been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 17).

Toastmasters International has increased their six-month and annual dues beginning with this membership period. Meanwhile, BET is fiscally sound and is not raising our six-month club rate. Those who pay for a full year will receive a discount on the club rate for the second six-month period.

6-month membership (Sep 2011 thru Mar 2012)

TI dues $36.00; BET dues $12.00 = Total $48.00

1-year membership (Sep 2011 thru Aug 2012)

TI dues $72.00; BET dues $18.00 = Total $90.00

Make checks payable to Brentwood Evening Toastmasters (for either $48 or $90). Please bring your payment to the Aug. 30 or Sept. 13 meetings or mail them to our Treasurer, Mike Costa.

Toastmaster for the evening – Keith McLusky

Opening:

Manuel opened the meeting and led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:

President Manuel Glaze confirmed rollout of the Toastmasters International’s new branding project on August 17^th. The club is planning a Cricket Social to watch Srimanth’s team compete on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 to 2pm. Rain date is Sept. 17^th. Toastmasters International announced that BET recently earned the “Founder’s Award” and “Beat the Clock Award” for adding 5 new members in May and June. The club needs participants for the evaluator’s contest on August 30^th. District conference will be held in Gatlinburg.

Opening:

Ann West led us in the pledge of Allegiance.

Club News:

President Manuel Glaze reported on a recent officers’ meeting and reminded the club that the re-branding will be out August 17th. Wireless internet is available for us at the church. Muhammad Sabir is offering to video any member who wants his/her speech videoed. Our club is planning a Cricket Social on September 10^th to watch Srimanth’s team compete. Rain date is Sept. 17^th.

Toastmaster for the evening: Gary Karg

Opening:

The meeting was called to order by Mark Brown who led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. After a brief recess, the meeting was turned over to the new BET president, Manuel Glaze.

Club News:

Manuel reviewed the mission of the club. He then shared highlights of the Toastmasters’ recent leadership session which was attended by numerous club members/officers. He informed members that a new, international branding rollout will be occurring in the near future followed by new leadership manuals. The intention of the new branding efforts is to help unify all Toastmasters clubs around the globe and provide more consistency for the entire organization. Before introducing the evening’s Toastmaster, Manuel acknowledged and welcomed our guests.
